Many young Catholics carry a quiet struggle that is rarely named: a season when prayer feels like it hits the ceiling, when faith goes dry, and when the confidence they once had in God's nearness starts to slip. This experience creates honest room for that struggle without rushing to resolve it with easy answers.
Rather than telling young people to simply pray harder or believe more, Ton explores what it means to trust God when the path ahead is unclear and the usual reassurances stop landing. The conversation makes space for doubt, spiritual dryness, and the hard questions that come when God feels far away.
The goal is not to manufacture certainty. It is to help young people discover that faith can continue even when it does not feel certain, and that trusting God in the quiet is itself a deep and real kind of faith.
How the session runs
This is not a lecture. Ton uses storytelling, guided conversation, and reflective activities that put participants in touch with their own experiences of spiritual dryness. Young people are invited to share honestly, listen to one another, and consider what trusting God has looked like in their own lives.
Through small-group discussion and quiet reflection prompts, participants move from activity into prayerful consideration of what it means to keep showing up in faith when reassurance is scarce. The session ends with practical ways to pray through uncertainty rather than around it.
